O.K. Center for Contemporary Art Linz
Das O.K Centrum für Gegenwartskunst is an experimental laboratory in the area of the arts, which is supported by the public authorities. It is a place for the exhibition and production of contemporary art and accompanies the realisation of artistic works from their conception to their exhibition.
That way a mostly younger generation of internationally active artists are offered a public platform and a laboratory situation in one.
Accompanying symposia, mediation and live acts connect the audience with the arts projects. As a documentation catalogues, videos and CDs are produced.
Founded in the late 80ies O.K. positions itself, with its flexible and process-oriented structure, as a place for discourse and action.
The programme focus lies on multimedia and strictly space-related group and individual projects, which frequently pick up topics and questions concerning society. The infrastructure provided by the premises allows the presentation of several different exhibition productions at the same time; a collection has deliberately not been built up.
O.K. is counselled by an artistic council functioning as a curator, and which changes according to a rotation principle.
